What can chest and back pain mean

You may be suffering from what is known as PCS, Precordial Catch Syndrome can be extremely serious and can often leave you totally short of breath. It can be an extremely severe pain causing much pain for the sufferer; it could last a few minutes or a few seconds. No matter how long it lasts; the pain is of the same severity.

You could liken it to angina or a heart attack when it hits you; the only difference is not only will you feel the pain in your chest; but you will also feel the pain in your back. After the attack has finished; you may still feel an ache in your chest and in your back but the pain will have gone. Each attack may bring more pain or the same degree of pain as you felt before. When the pain does leave you; you will immense relief and your breathing will return to normal.

It is currently unknown as to what causes PCS and there are many research programs trying to figure this exact thing out. As it only strikes every now and again; it cannot be treated or medicated as it is so erratic when it strikes.

If you think you may be affected by PCS you need to speak to your doctor as soon as you possibly can; it may not be serious or affect your health in the long run; but it could lead onto other problems later.
