What are the common causes to back pain

Back pain is so common nowadays and more or less all of us suffer at some time or another; but what are the more common causes of back pain?

Well posture is the main problem and it can cause back pain very easily and quickly. Standing or sitting incorrectly can cause terrible back pains. We have all slouched at a desk, or slumped into a chair; when really you should be trying to combat back pain; you need to stand straight and sit with your back and head up and straight.

If it’s your chair causing you problems; buy a new one. Buy one with straight back so you are unable to slouch and one that provides adequate back support when sitting. If you’re standing for long periods then you need to walk around and sit down every now and again and stretch your head, neck and back muscles.

You may have heard this a million times; but still many people ignore the advice. Bend with your knees and not with your back, and also lift with your knees and not with your back. This is good advice for a reason; ignoring this advice will lead you to possible serious back pain and maybe time off work and taking many painkillers. Back pain that can be avoided should be; a serious back problem could find you being disabled later on in life.

Always seek medical advice when you have back pain; and if you can take some time off work to rest before it gets any worse.
