Contrary to popular belief; helping your back pain is possible without the use of drugs and painkillers. For starters try changing your posture, the way you sit affects your back, the way you stand affects your back; so if you doing both of these incorrectly you will have back pain. Keeping the correct posture will stop any back pain that you may be feeling. Smoking can also affect your back, so stopping smoking not only will improve you overall health and inners; it will help your back as well.

You may have lifted something with your back or bent over something with your back rather than using your knees; if this is the case, then from now on you need to lift and bend with your knees and not with your back however light you may think what your lifting is.

Hot and cold pads can also go a long way to helping your back pain subside or disappear completely. You can use them during the day or when you get back from work to ease the suffering a little. Also try to adjust any chairs or seats you have so that you will automatically sit in the correct posture with your head, neck and back straight.

You need to be careful when exercising that you are not over exerting yourself on a daily basis; you need to do careful and well executed exercises that will make your back stronger; not weaken it as a result.
